ESAC ECO-Award
Each year, the ECO-Award honours individuals who have positively contributed to the field of environmental studies in Canada through community-building, research, knowledge-to-action, and/or innovations in practice or approaches. The award committee will happily consider nominees from academic, practitioner, community-based and other backgrounds.
ESAC defines environmental studies as a transdisciplinary field that investigates, educates, guides, supports, or acts upon human-environmental relationships.
We particularly encourage nominations for or applications from individuals working in interdisciplinary and multi-sectoral teams to advance the field of environmental studies through the development, enhancement, or expansion of innovative collaborations and networks.
You can find details of the 2026 competition, including selection criteria, in the nomination form. Nominations are due by 11:59 pm EST on February 28th, 2026.
