Why I Joined ESAC

I joined ESAC to help strengthen the bridge between rigorous scholarship and community action. As a Caribbean scholar and visible minority, I represent communities that are too often unheard or pushed to the margins, and I carry lived experience of how climate change adversely affects vulnerable communities. ESAC’s interdisciplinary network is a natural home for this work where collaboration with scholars, community partners, and policymakers is essential. I hope to bring this perspective to the Board, guiding decisions through both my lived experience and research expertise, and to foster inclusive, accessible knowledge sharing that uplifts arts-based and community-led approaches while supporting emerging researchers advancing just, people-centered climate solutions.
