Cheryl Green

Cheryl Green, MDes, is a design and foresight strategist, educator, and LEED-accredited professional based in Toronto. She leads Design in Motion, a consultancy focused on regenerative design, with a particular emphasis on housing as the foundation of resilient communities. With more than 20 years of experience, she works with organizations and communities to co-create equitable, future-oriented strategies that address complex environmental and social challenges.

Alongside her consultancy, Cheryl teaches at George Brown College, where she mentors emerging designers to integrate sustainability, equity, and regenerative principles into their practice. She brings to ESAC a perspective that bridges academic research, professional design practice, and community engagement.

Why did you join ESAC?

I joined the Environmental Studies Association of Canada because I believe collaboration across disciplines is essential to tackling the environmental and social challenges of our time. My work as a design strategist focuses on climate change, social inequity, and housing precarity, with a commitment to advancing housing solutions that strengthen both environmental resilience and social well-being.

For me, ESAC is a community where diverse voices come together to share ideas, spark action, and support the next generation of environmental leaders. Being part of this network is a meaningful way to contribute to building more inclusive and resilient futures.
