Amrit Bath
2026 ECO-Award winner
Amrit Bath is a community-focused environmental advocate with experience in sustainable initiatives, a passion for public engagement, and strategic communications. She holds a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies from York University and is currently pursuing a Certificate in Public Relations and Strategic Communications at George Brown College.
Through her initiative AREAtransit, she has explored how equitable transit systems can reduce barriers, support climate goals, and strengthen community connectivity in the Greater Toronto Area. With grant funding and structured mentorship through the Youth Climate Leadership program with Youth Challenge International and TakingITGlobal, she collaborated with TTCriders, gathered community feedback, and interviewed youth to ensure the project remained grounded in lived experience. She also conducted outreach to city councillors, the TTC, and media outlets such as the Toronto Star.
She believes change does not need to start big — rather, it starts with consistent and intentional steps.
“My work centered on improving access to sustainable transportation in the Greater Toronto Area and amplifying youth voices in climate decision-making, particularly through my AREAtransit project. Through this initiative, I have explored how equitable transit systems can reduce barriers, support climate goals, and strengthen community connectivity.”
